The friar's day includes communal
celebration of the Eucharist, recitation or singing of the Liturgy
of the Hours, the Prayer of the Church, and two hours of personal,
private prayer, one in the early morning and the other in late
afternoon. These hours of prayer uniquely sustain and color his
ministries. These include:
- Shrine ministry at Holy
Hill: sacramental ministry, spiritual direction, counseling,
Mass for Healing, talks for pilgrim groups, retreats
- Retreats, spiritual direction,
counseling
- Work with the Discalced
Carmelite nuns and the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order
- Parish ministry
- Teaching
- Publication work: writing,
translating, editing, marketing
- Chaplaincies
- Community service: cooking,
maintenance, treasurer
